Leadership position open (2012): External VP

SLA-CUA has one remaining volunteer leadership position open for External Vice President.

The External VP assists with posting events, news, and topics of interest through the group's social networks.  All officers are welcomed and encouraged to offer ideas for events of interest.  This is a great opportunity to meet fellow SLIS peers and network with SLA professionals.

If you are interested in learning more about this position please contact us or come to tomorrow's (Jan 3) meeting!

Up and running

Welcome to the CUA/SLA Student group info center.  We are using this location to keep you in the loop about our activities, events, members, and information.   have a great suggestion?  Send it on to slacua@gmail.com

Thank you Kelly Cornett for whipping up our new virtual meeting info commons!  Some of those books look like they need your help with preservation, Kelly.  Just the kind we like!  Pass the wheat paste and the oyster shucker, please.

So now that you are here, don't leave until you ...
  • bookmark or subscribe to our feed.
  • Volunteering - we are dedicating a page here to be a collection point for information that we receive on places and people who are looking for volunteers.  If you want to get some hands on practical skills, this is the page for you.
  • SLIS Alum Blogs: "Relationships Relationships Relationships" (Eileen Boswell at our Sept 13 SLA meeting): Check this page to get  to know SLIS alums by following their interests and activities.
  • Resources:  Well, it just wouldn't be an LIS site without these!  Look here for tutorials, resources, presentations or other items that we want to share.
  • Twitter Feed :  Some like it short and to the point.  Need I say more?

Our new space is helping us to be keep up better with the rapid info flow around our community and that of the DC/SLA.  (getting access to updating our current web site is proving difficult, and content there has been overtaken by events).  Think of this space as a virtual folder for your CUA/SLA info.  Or, just let us know what you want it to be!

Also, don't forget to join SLA today to get up and running!

Liz McLean, President CUA/SLA Student Group
